Dungeons and Dragons

The FRPG hobby began with D&D’s publication in 1974.  Through five editions and three companies (it is now published by Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro) it has remained the most popular and well-known role playing game, and every other such game on the market has built on concepts first developed in D&D.

Colorado GameMaster offers games using the 5th edition D&D rules; this is the version currently in print.  If you hope to use your experience with CGM to branch out and recruit your own gaming group, or to join another existing group, this is a good game to know, as you will easily find other players who know it.  Rulebooks are available at your local game store, or directly from Wizards of the Coast.

Our D&D games usually start in a medieval fantasy setting.  Technology is roughly 1300s European (before printing presses, banking or gunpowder).  All of our storylines are original; we don’t run Adventurer’s League or other “Organized Play” or published adventures.

In Dungeons and Dragons, your character will choose a race , a class, and a background (what you did before you became an adventurer). You work together with other players to survive and accomplish your goals in a dangerous world.
